StarTech.com 2.5in mobile drive bays and backplanes deliver removable, hot-swap access to 2.5in SATA and SAS SSDs/HDDs for flexible storage expansion and drive sharing. Available as trayless single-bay units that mount in a full-profile PCI expansion slot and as multi-bay backplanes that fit a single 5.25in bay, the family supports SATA III (6 Gbps) for maximum drive performance and SAS II where indicated. Construction uses aluminum and steel materials for durability and improved heat dissipation; multi-bay models include dual 40mm fans to manage airflow. Removable steel trays are lockable and, where applicable, interchangeable between compatible single- and multi-bay units. Robust NSS connectors are rated for 50,000+ insertions and the backplanes are compatible with standard RAID controllers for flexible deployment in systems integrator and administrator environments. TAA-compliant models are included in the product family.
