Secure the adapter to a serial device, using pre-installed and removable DB-9 nuts, or install the included slotted D-Sub thumbscrews for compatibility with other serial peripheral devices or cables. Data transmission and reception LED indicators on the adapter provide real-time monitoring of port activity. The USB LED indicates when the adapter has successfully enumerated on the desktop or laptop. All the LEDs aid with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
